[edgt_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”#000000″ background_color=””]S[/edgt_dropcaps]eptember kicked off particularly nasty this year, with thunder and sheets of rain in tow to quickly remind me that summer. is. over. But bad weather is nothing new for yours truly, and furthermore, the incessant gloom has given me a head start on my fall candle spree. I was inspired to write this after purchasing the new scent from Pf. Candle Co, (see below) which quickly cheered up my wonderfully dry home. Here I have listed 4 candles or fragrances that I absolutely love in the autumn, plus one at the end that is currently on my wishlist!
Aptly named Piñon, this fragrance is a delicious vanilla blend that may become my most favorite fragrance of all time. I am a vanilla fiend, so this woody mixture went straight into my shopping cart after its recent release. I have always purchased the candles from Pf. Candle Co, but I decided to try out a diffuser to see if they have a little bit more throw. So far it is about the same as their large candles, but the benefit is a longer lasting scent without any fire hazards. I also have their Spiced Pumpkin fragrance, which is a beautiful, more natural pumpkin scent that is simply perfect for October.
I could easily burn this candle year-round, but it is designed for the fall and winter months with smoky notes reminiscent of a crackling fire. With additional layers of oud wood and frankincense, it gives off much more warmth than the tiny flame alone. I got this wonderful fragrance off of Sephora, but I have seen this brand popping up on more sites recently, so hopefully these candles will be a bit easier to hunt down in the near future.
I know, Diptyque candles get a lot of limelight these days, but the Ambre fragrance smells just as divine as it looks. This candle burns so clean, with a well rounded and pure amber fragrance that adds a lovely aura to whatever room you burn it in. The classic clear jar is one that we all know and love, but I am fond of the bottle-like shades and am particularly curious about their new cities-inspired line (scents based off of New York, London, etc), but as you might expect, these trendy scents have already become impossible to find.
Not only am I a candle collector, but I also hunt down personal fragrances to try out and sometimes add to my perfume collection. I initially discovered Byredo in Paris, and while none of the fragrances agreed with me enough to purchase, the candles were an instant hit. Bibliothéque was easily my first love and has that deep mix of berries, vanilla, and leather that feels just right in the cooler months, but I could see myself buying Bohemia or Apocalyptic in the near future.
This candle has been sitting in my Net-a-Porter wishlist for quite some time, and most likely caught my eye because of its stunning packaging. The scent Tuscan Leather seems like the safest blind buy for my preferences, but I would feel more comfortable smelling it before ordering one that I may not enjoy. Unfortunately, I have never found this candle physically in a store but I am sure the day will come around! The Perfumer’s Story is probably better known for their personal fragrances (as hinted in their title), so I am excited to see how they blend their products to suit home scents.
Now that I have demonstrated how much I love autumn in the form of candles, let me know what your favorites are and what you want to pick up for this year!
