Belt Bags: Yay or Nay?

The trend that is sweeping the nation! This season is welcoming a new round of belt bags in even more unique styles for your best throwback outfits to date.

But the belt bag, fanny pack, even bum bag to some, is one of the more polarized fashion items to come around in quite some time. It is not likely to make it into the world of classic fashion, so I am asking:

“is this bag worth investing in?”

Pros: This bag is versatile and ultra trendy. You only need to add this bag to your outfit to look current and chic all at once!

Cons: They are also likely to run their course within the year, and we will all have a new ‘it’ bag to goggle at in no time.

Some of you might answer: “well, when you put it that way, then of course not! Why should I blow my hard-earned money for one year of wear?”

Let me tell you, designers have put a lot of extra effort to make these bags look amazing. Just take a look at some of the awesome options out there right now!

It all comes down to how much wear you are going to get out of this item. I have seen some fashion bloggers tie their Gucci belt bags around their waists in nearly every outfit, so they are certainly versatile. My personal opinion, as seen by my choice of bag, is to save my money for something else that I know I will get the wear out of.

With that said, this is something I have had to convince myself not to buy. I mean, take a look at this gorgeous summer option from Chloe! But at the end of the day, I went for the best of both worlds and picked up a basic but very cute envelope-style belt bag from Zara.

How do you decide what trendy bags to put your money towards? And will you be taking the plunge with the infamous belt bag?

the bag in your pictures is definitely cute. I like cross body purses when I travel (there are some cute styles!). I’ll pay attention to the belt bag’s revival. 😉
