Growing up in Washington State, I was spoiled by excellent coffee at home and in the city. Each coffee house had a unique vibe; rustic, outdoorsy, excellent latte art, Italian influences, and beyond. But each would turn out spectacular coffee, usually roasted within the last few days. Unbelievably good. Now that I live so far away from home, I am on the hunt for a new spot that reminds me of those memorable scents and atmosphere. Luckily, there are quite a few shops and roasters to explore here in Utrecht, and on this cloudy, regular day, I was on the prowl for my new fix.
What does one wear on a coffee run? Really, whatever you want, but on this day I pulled out some shining silver booties and this unique, oversized coat that is all of my dreams come true. As I mentioned in my last post, I tend to run very cold on a day-to-day basis, so wearing something that resembles a fashionable blanket with buttons is absolutely fair game. It is surprisingly thick, and I love the unique, menswear-inspired silhouette for a bit of pow in an otherwise regular coat.
I hope you are enjoying the first week of the new year!
