I hope you are all recovering and relaxing after weekend of holiday fun! I know I need a bit of a refresh after Christmas and New Years to get my mind straight. I took a bit of a social media break, (my first since starting my blog!), and found some time to unplug for the holiday weekend.
It has been my first Christmas away from my family in the US, and while that was difficult, we had a nice, long Skype session on Christmas Day so that I felt like I wasn’t missing out on too much. It is always hard to adjust after moving abroad, and this was one more thing to try and normalize after moving 5,000 miles away. Of course, I will be able to spend other Christmases with them and those years will only be more special!
When in Austria
We (my boyfriend, his family, and myself) drove about 9 hours to a small resort in the mountains just outside of Salzburg, Austria for our holiday. When we arrived, the mountains and villages had a cute dusting of snow, giving the area the ‘white Christmas’ feel we all long for. Unfortunately, it warmed up on Christmas Day, but the area is no less beautiful. Rustic countrysides go as far as the eye can see, and our resort is a short walk away from the Schloss Fuschl Castle, built in the 15th century. It has been a wonderful new area for exploration, outdoor activities and evening relaxation!
With Christmas trees and carols all around, it is only appropriate to pull out a rich green top, such a this emerald number by Zara. Airy, with a high neck and cute pearl-style buttons on the lightly ruffled cuffs, it embodies the season of remembering the old and embracing the new. Gleaming outfits are always popular this time of year, but the need for bling and shine is even higher this winter with metallics and vinyl on trend for the season. You are more than likely to get a few extra wears out of your New Years Eve outfit this year!
I have been vlogging my time here in Austria, so if you would like to see more, have a look at my YouTube channel when it goes up later this week!
