Escaping to Paradise
I rarely vacation at resorts; I am 100% a city girl and prefer to wander instead of laying at the pool. But, I can certainly appreciate the bliss that a cold drink and some winter sunshine can create. My life is far from stress-free, and the first full day I spent in mid-70 degree temperatures induced a release I was not expecting. There are only a few days left before I fly 0ff to chilly Seattle to enjoy some time with my family and friends in the regular Christmas fashion. I will always be a sucker for Christmas lights and classic carols, but I will not quickly forget how lovely it was to take a pause during this sometimes-crazy time of year.
Whether you are inside, hiding from a mountain of snow, or the beach soaking it all in, enjoy your upcoming weekend of festivities!

Mid-December: the time of the season when the holiday parties and mulled wine posts start to get old. If you, amongst the best of us, are also struggling with your nth hangover of the month, allow me to offer a few sand & sunshine snapshots from my most recent trip to ease the pain.
I was away for over a week, smack in the middle of this dreary December, and while it was not a trip bursting with Mai Tais and sunbathing, there is always a calm that accompanies an escape to the beach in the dead of winter. The vitamin D was intoxicating after months of the Amsterdam gloom, and Kona, Hawaii was more than willing to offer a few days of winter sunshine and a soft breeze.
