Why you Need to go Neutral this Summer

Guys, I am beyond excited that we are a month out from summer and on the home stretch to my favorite season. Not only are there summer vacations to look forward to, summer is a time to let my mind rest while also absorbing some vitamin D by the pool…with a drink topped off with an umbrella…ok, maybe I really need a vacation! My life only seems to be getting busier, so I can tell you that finding a bit of beach to claim for some “me-time” is getting more attractive as this year progresses.

Some of you will agree that there are many more influences on your style than simply what is trending and what your friends are buying; besides the weather, how you dress and your current mood are without a doubt influenced by each other.  I have been chasing one thing: to find calm in my mid to late 20’s when everything seems to be speeding up and leaving me behind. My generation lives in a constant state of FOMO, so it seems more important than ever for me to find peace with how things are. This need for calm seems to, without a doubt, include my unusual draw to creams and neutrals when picking my newest clothing items. Never has my closet included so many white blouses and nude pumps, or a growing collection of white jeans. I am living for the quiet moments, and it is seeping into my style one purchase at a time.

Perhaps we could all use more tranquility in our lives because this spring and summer, light neutrals are all you need to achieve influencer glam. Outfits entirely comprised of whites and creams should be your daily inspiration for those warm summer days, and it really can’t hurt to add in some light-wash pastels to compliment your crisp white pants. I have added some of my recent neutral purchases to this post so you can see what has caught my attention for the 2018 neutral wash!

Share your thoughts on this one: can a neutral wardrobe encourage a calm mind or vice versa? What do you find influences how you choose your outfit the most, besides a bit of rain or sunshine?

Interesting idea! I’ve never thought about going neutral for summer; I love vibrant colors and try to wear them every chance I get. But I am trying a capsule wardrobe, so maybe I should include only neutrals and see if it makes me feel calmer and more centered.

I tended to wear moodier colors myself, I love auburn and deep green! Have fun with your capsule wardrobe 🙂
