In with the New
On the first day of 2018, it is time to look back on 2017 in order to prepare for a year of success!
Once again, another year has flown by and I, like many, am feeling particularly reflective on the good and (especially) the bad that made up 2017. I tend to plan ahead, and one of the things that really defined last year was how much my life has not followed my so-called “life plan.” I have already had several unexpected changes in the last three years, beginning with quitting music performance and including moving across the world. Although sometimes frustrating and exhausting, I must admit that I am still enjoying the ride!
My past few years of New Year’s resolutions have been surprisingly effective, and right now I am trying to understand why these years have been so much more successful than those from before I moved to the Netherlands. I assume that I have embraced the “enough is enough” state of mind, and do not want to waste any more time in my 20’s wishing and wanting. It is time to get off of my ass and work on my long-term goals now, one day at a time.
With that said, in order to achieve my 20-something goals, I think my resolution for 2018 needs to be better time management. I want to get back into yoga, put more quality time into my blog and social media posts, get in longer workouts, as well as improve my eating habits, which are all time-consuming day-to-day ordeals. I need to be strict with my time in order to find the best work-life balance, and optimization will be my new goal to tackle. Unfortunately, things like yoga have disappeared from my overflowing schedule, and I really want to bring it back to save my sanity!
