In the Rain (again!)

Happy March everyone!

Spring showers have, over the past few days, greeted us here in Holland en masse with no end in sight; thus my spring outfits may well be in an overcast and wet atmosphere from here on out! I have always dreamed of living somewhere where March means sunshine and comfortable temperatures, but for now I will be looking out my window at the wet brick and cobblestone, with some serious Cali envy.

Menswear Inspired

Whether you give much thought to your wardrobe or not, everyone has a signature style. Anything from clean-cuts and pressed shirts, to the sort of shoes she or he can’t stop buying, contributes to an overall taste that defines ones wardrobe. I know that one prominent trait of my clothing taste is my love for all things menswear. I am lucky that I am often able to borrow from my boyfriend’s closet, and I fall instantly in love with items designed for female figures but with men’s tailoring in mind.  Thus, I pulled out all the stops on this outfit and created something wonderfully smart, with today’s trends in mind.

This striped top from Gamiss was a must, with a slight oversized fit and pinstripes, and topped off with eyelashes embroidered on the collar. Too cute! I tied a new favorite accessory, my New Look neck tie, around my collar to give it that frothy old-time feel that is adorning blouses left and right. Finally, I grabbed my cropped Topshop Boutique trousers, and my platform mules, to create an ensemble perfect for a day out on a bustling urban walkway.

I can’t wait to share more spring outfits with you, as I hopefully begin to pack away my winter coats, and wistfully eye my shorts and dresses for the coming seasons.

Let me know what you think!

xx nicole
