Spring is definitely on the way here in Nederland, and although there have been some rainy days, things are certainly improving! The slightly higher temperatures and mild breezes put me in such a light mood, and I feel more inspired with my outfits when the rain is not making a scene. This jacket is new to my collection, from the Spanish brand Mango. Military inspired jackets with prominent details have stuck around from last season and are even more fun than before; you can see all sorts of adjustments in the cuts and lengths, from Balmain fitted blazers to cropped jackets that are perfect for spring. While rather expensive, this Burberry jacket (also shown below) is so inspiring with its rounded shoulders and almost pirate-like sleeves, while also incorporating prominent hardware to really make a statement. There are endless choices at the moment, so you can really take what you like from this trend and make it your own!
This particular jacket has the cutest little pouf-shoulders that really drew me in; it is possibly overly trendy, but definitely in a way that matches my taste. Plus, the cut of the coat creates a flattering effect, with a fitted body and prominent shoulder. As you can see in my post on bell sleeves, there are plenty of options for upping your sleeve game this spring and summer, and this puffy shoulder is just one of many to spice up an ordinary piece of clothing.
