Jacquard + Yellow
Once in a while I feel inspired to get out of my comfort zone and accept that people will take a second glance at my outfit. When mixing two rather loud items of clothing, it is inevitable that I will get the occasional comment or a look of confusion/amusement as strangers analyze my style. What is she thinking? It is almost May, and here I am with my deep colored jacquard trousers and the most butter-yellow top imaginable; is there anything less springtime appropriate?
The second glances and comments are no bother to me, especially when this outfit is one of the more enjoyable combinations I have worn in a long time. Yes, it is spring, and cream colors are much more wearable, but I couldn’t resist pulling a genuine ‘Nicole’ card, and throwing that all out the window. At least for one day!
Mixing prints and styles can be a bit scary at first, but it just takes pairing a few patterns together to find one that just clicks. Here I have this yellow high-neck blouse from SheIn, with the cutest tie-wrist details and a subtle polka-dot pattern, styled with a floral jacquard printed pant in red and blue. At their roots, they are just primary colors (which are all the rage for spring!) and these items go together better than you would think. To further my case, the jacquard pants and the blouse both have vague romantic details that tie the whole ensemble together. I rounded the look off with a pair of block-heeled sock booties for the ultimate 2017 combo.
Let me know what YOU think in the comments!
