No Need to be Afraid of Oil

Nicole Parise shares her favorite fall skincare picks

As much as I love fall and winter festivities, the dry weather tends to take all of my body’s natural hydration and leaves me with irritated and dehydrated skin. I have used moisturizers religiously in the winter as far back as I can remember, but I only started dabbling with oils over the past few years. After discovering a select number of superb products, I can happily say that oils are now fully integrated into my winter skincare routine. Whether you have oily, normal, or dry tendencies, all skin types can make use of oil-based skincare; the challenge is finding the best match for your skin type. Below, I have what listed the oils and serums that are literally saving my dry hair and skin this fall and winter, and how I incorporate them into my routine!

Sunday RileyI purchased two Sunday Riley favorites a few months ago, and all I can say is: the hype is real! Both the Luna Night Oil and the Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil are amazing products that are pleasant to use and actually work. I wake up with the smoothest skin after using the Luna oil, and the UFO oil works to diminish redness, irritation, and blemishes.

Kiehl’sAfter Kiehl’s arrived at Sephora, I immediately got my hands on a few cult favorites, plus a few others with excellent reviews. The Midnight Recovery Concentrate and Daily Reviving Concentrate work in tandem to give your skin an extra boost both morning and night, to reveal energized and refreshed skin. Alongside these two, I have also fallen in love with their Dry Body Oil, which has a light vanilla scent and sinks right into the skin!

LVNEASpeaking of body oils, this brand has blown me out of the water with their body serums; each botanical oil mix smells divine, and their Black Pine, Cedarwood, and Vanilla Body Serum has quickly become my HG product of the year!

Ouai I always keep a hair oil handy for when my ends get dry and lackluster, and this hair oil from Ouai is my favorite formula to date! It has a fresh floral scent, and the lightweight product is easy to work through the ends of your hair. You will be left with a shiny ‘do, without any unnecessary added weight.

Shiseido | These retinol under-eye masks are part of my weekend skincare routine, and one of the products I use to combat my premature under-eye wrinkles. I place these little pads under my eyes, pat in the serum, and follow with a lightweight moisturizer.

I’ve been getting into oils a bunch the past few months, with my skincare anyway. A year ago I wouldn’t have put an oil on my face because it seems crazy but wow… I wake up with a glow!
