[edgt_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”#000000″ background_color=””]L[/edgt_dropcaps]et me start off by explaining my recent two-week absence from the blogosphere: My boyfriend recently went away on a rather long trip and anticipating this, we prepared a few photo shoots that I could work on during his absence. However, I found myself quite unhappy with how the outfits had photographed and I was generally uninspired by the outcome. Don’t get me wrong, I think my boyfriend takes beautiful photos! But, working at such a quick pace to prepare for his trip didn’t suit my style and I felt like I was producing mediocre content. I ended up scrapping all of the photographs, posted once or twice on Instagram, and waited for his return to resume blogging.
The break was a sort of blessing in disguise. I have maintained the goal of posting twice a week since the very beginning of my blogging career, and I was able to sustain that for some time. However, life has started to catch up with me; working full time as well as blogging is no joke! I love scribbling away about fashion and occasionally travel, and the very last thing I want is to burn out on my number one hobby. Having some time off from my usual schedule has allowed me to consider my goals for this blog space, and I always want to showcase my best work. Haste will not do!
Now, to talk about the fun part: clothes! The athleisure trend has certainly rubbed off on me this year. You would not have caught me dead wearing sneakers with a casual outfit before 2016, but I think I have posted some branded kicks at least twice now. (See this post featuring my Fila sneakers here!). These Adidas superstars are easily my most comfortable pair, and in the popular white/black combo, they can pair with almost anything. Classic sneakers will definitely sustain their popularity throughout the summer and early fall, and I may pick up one or two more pairs in the coming months. I have my eye on the famous Cortez Nike sneakers, especially in this hot red shade! For this outfit, I grabbed this red and navy cropped vest from Urban Outfitters. I was never a cheerleader, but paired with a skirt I am certain this crop would be reminiscent of my high school’s cheerleader garb! Finally, these perfect light wash boyfriend jeans by Topshop Boutique finish off this casual ‘fit.
I would like to hear back from you! Who are some of your fashion blogger icons, and what about their content really sticks out to you? I know that many fashion bloggers who I admire post infrequently with stellar content, and that makes each post worth so much more. I have some big goals for this blog, and I hope that this change of pace will make all the difference!
Until next time, and looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
