With the turn from August into September comes the best styles that fashion has to offer, and a part of the year that I begin to daydream about every summer. The warm hues plus the transitional weather arouses a nostalgia that I know other style mavens feel right alongside me. While we all wait for the fashion houses (big and small) to display their most anticipated collections, I assemble my fall staples and fresh styles for the new season in an attempt to share the moment with all of you.

Anyone who has followed me for a while will know that I can not resist anything menswear, tailored, or high waisted, and having all three combined in an ultra-trendy flared pant was a true shopper’s euphoria. My most anticipated trend has to be the checked prints that are gracing every suit pant and jacket in existence, particularly in the realms of Stella McCartney, Miu Miu, and Chloé, to name a few. These English-inspired, acutely-tailored items (with a twist, of course) are so autumn-appropriate that my fall-loving soul is simply bursting with excitement.

How many ways can you style this elegant print? I know I will be asking myself this question more than a handful of times in the near future, but for now, I have gone with this 60’s inspired ‘fit with all the markings of 2017. The split hem in these Zara trousers is only complete with the perfect pair of pointed shoes, and teamed with a simple white shirt completes this altered throwback look.
