[edgt_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”#000000″ background_color=””]W[/edgt_dropcaps]elcome to summer! We were granted a few beautiful days of sun and heat before the gloom returned to Holland, with lower temperatures in tow. The weather does not seem to be cheering up anytime soon, making this post oh-so-relevant to those of us who are only given a few nice summer days each year. I have found that light jackets are the key to handling the cooler days, and they allow you to wear your warm weather favorites with a bit of a safety net. As I have mentioned before, denim and t-shirts are my true go-to, but sometimes that combo tends to become uninspiring. Simply throwing on something trendy overtop takes your outfit from unremarkable to chic in a snap!

In my books, the 80’s trend is still hot, and this long duster jacket from Topshop is the best layering item I have purchased this year. I am obsessed with the dusty pink shade, and the material is perfectly light for these irregular summer temperatures. The buttons and lapels elude to a much heavier coat, but these details only elevate the look while keeping you comfortable. I especially love the rounded 3/4 length sleeves; this cut has become a personal favorite and I know I will grab a few more tops with this style before the trend loses steam.

I hope your summer has started off spectacularly!

xx nicole

I wish I was living in Holland right now, I live in South Texas and a jacket no matter how cute is just not all that feasible. This was such a great post, thanks for share.

I completely agree. Wearing a light jacket during warmer months is a nice way to stay warm and look great!
