Tired of the Little Black Dress?

Tired of of the Little Black Dress?

Holidays 2017

Christmas parties are here , and in preparation for said parties comes the realization that these festivities equal dress shopping. But, I am here to argue that if you really want to make a splash at your events this year, perhaps it is time to say goodbye to the little black dress and go for something new.

I do not have loads of parties lined up for next month, but when I go out, I rarely pull out a LBD for the occasion. You will all know that if the option presents itself, I always pick a well-cut jumpsuit for any party, but this year I was inspired by the velvet rage of last Christmas and got my hands on a full velvet suit. In an effort to keep the outfit feminine, I considered ditching the turtleneck seen in the photos and flaunting a bit more skin than usual. Perhaps in the right setting (nye party?), this idea would work flawlessly, but for a cozy Christmas party, I decided to keep a classy grandfather vibe.

I am always pro “wear-what-makes-you-feel-good,” so if that cute black dress with a pair of pumps makes you feel unbeatable, then I love it as well. But if you’re looking to mix things up this year, why not try one of the trendiest suits of 2017?

Happy Holidays, and cheers!

Such a good idea! I’m always torn when dressing for holiday parties between comfort/warmth and style. This works in both categories.
