Christmas markets are a dime a dozen here in Europe, but none are quite as spectacular and large as the markets in Germany. I have seen them in Berlin and Cologne to name a few, and while each city has a unique charm to offer, they all celebrate the season with hundreds of huts brimming with christmas cheer. This year, my boyfriend and I decided to check out a popular market in Essen, Germany, and see what all the fuss was about! During the day, the streets were certainly full, but nothing compared to the volume of participants after the sun had set and the chill had moved in. There were giant, friendly bonfires roaring in the streets to help keep the cold out, live music on every corner, and treats waiting to be enjoyed. And of course, mugs brimming with mulled wine in festive, seasonal cups!
These red boots only see daylight once in a while, but they are the perfect cherry shade for the holidays, so I had to pull them out for the day. While they totally steal the look, I pulled out this pj-style white button-up, and a metallic bag to seal off this christmas-inspired ensemble. I can’t think of a better time of year to pretend to wear your pj’s out for the day!
This year is wrapping up fast, and soon I will be traveling to Austria to celebrate the holidays. Hopefully there will be a bit of snow on the ground for a real white christmas, but I’m sure Salzburg will be beautiful either way. Don’t forget to subscribe to keep up with my travels, and definitely let me know your holiday plans in the comments!
